Dedication, celebration, reflection

Womens day.
A day dedicated to women.
Before I enter a rather dystopic analysis of the subject, I want to invite you to celebrate.
Celebrate. Co-create. Flaunt your womanness. Release your inner Goddess and let her dance around the fire in all her brilliance. Dress up in the colors of the rainbow and twirl, just because you can. Jump. Scream. Laugh. Sing. Roll around on the ground. Take off your shoes and feel the nourishing ground beneath you. Let your inner light radiate. Embrace your shadow and give it space to breathe. Reach out to your sisters. Give a gift to women less fortunate than you. Share from the well of your uniqueness.

But also take the time to reflect on why there needs to be a day dedicated to acknowledging women. Should not all the days of our lives honor the feminine and masculine aspects of existence? Does the fact that we have a woman's day mean that it is implied that the rest of the days in the year are generally more dedicated to men? Think about it, how many holidays are dedicated to great men (real and imaginary) and their actions, as opposed to women? Why? What can we do to help balance out the equation?

  1. Great questions; I wonder the same thing!

My favorite line from this blog post
"Share from the well of your uniqueness."
